FARM TO SCHOOL & COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Farm to School enriches the connection people of all ages have to local food, agriculture, nutrition, and the environment through hands-on education. Farm Fresh RI focuses on providing the information needed to make healthful choices about food that reflect peoples’ values, health, and culture.

We provide services across the state — primarily in K-12 schools, preschool/daycare settings, community centers, and farms. And as a core partner for the National Farm to School Network, we serve as a liaison for information, resources, needs, and opportunities from the state with the national network.

Our Farm to School team provides a “Harvest of the Month” campaign, cafeteria taste tests, garden programs, educational materials for in-class and after-school lessons on the food system, and one-on-one assistance for school communities.
