NEW CUSTOMERS
We’re thrilled that you’ve decided to purchase great food from local farms through Market Mobile. Not only will you get tasty food from a wide range of local farmers and producers in a single order and delivery, you will be helping our local economy thrive.
Market Mobile Basics
Price Lists
Twice a week, Farm Fresh works with local farmers and producers to list their locally grown and produced food for sale online. Farmers log on to the Market Mobile platform and enter the products they will be able to harvest that particular week, the quantity available, and the price per unit.
Ordering Day
We send an order reminder email to customers twice a week. Customers shop for local food from 100+ farmers and producers in just one simple online order, delivery/pickup, and payment. It's like shopping at the farmers market online! Early the following morning, those orders are sent to the farmers/producers for harvesting and preparation.
To shop on Market Mobile, visit marketmobile.org and log in. Browse for food by specific Producer or by Product, and narrow it down with a variety of filters like "dairy," "plant-based," and so on. For each item you'd like to buy, set the quantity and click "Add to Cart." Once you're done shopping, be sure to click "Checkout" to place your order. If you don't receive a confirmation email, your order was not submitted.
Use the top menu bar to access everything you need to navigate your Market Mobile account:
- Click the Cart icon to view your cart and check out to submit your order.
- Click the Person icon to view your:
- Dashboard - view your account at a glance
- Orders - view your previously placed order
- Addresses - add and update your saved and default address
- Credit Cards - update default credit card information
- Account Details - update your name, phone number, business name (if applicable), and preferred communication method (phone/text or email)
Harvesting & Receiving
Once customers finish ordering, Farmers/Producers are notified about what's been ordered—and then harvest and prepare orders for our packhouse. Once delivered to us, items fresh from the fields are sorted into the appropriate temperature/moisture coolers.
Delivery day!
Very early in the morning, a crew of Farm Fresh RI staff and volunteers aggregate products into customer orders, pack our delivery trucks, and prepare for curbside pickups. We pay farmers and producers first, and invoice customers. There is a $5 delivery fee for each home delivery. Customers can also choose curbside pickup at Farm Fresh RI for no fee instead of receiving a delivery.
Farm Fresh RI is a nonprofit organization. We charge our farmers/producers a 20 percent brokerage fee on sales, which helps to financially support the Market Mobile program — the infrastructure and staffing needed to make everything go. This brokerage fee returns to Farm Fresh about 50% of the income needed to support the program. The other 50% is generated from charitable sources. This fee helps us support the expenses associated with aggregating, packing, and distributing orders. Market Mobile works for customers and producers; the savings provided through shared deliveries and invoicing is greater than what it would cost farmers to individually sell, deliver, and invoice such a wide range of customers. Learn more about our fees and how we operate.
